A strong spring for Jake Richmond has been reflected in him earning GPAC Golfer of the Week awards in a span of three weeks. Richmond placed sixth at the Bethel Invite.
Junior Jake Richmond recorded a second-straight top-10 tournament placement while leading the Bulldogs at the Bethel Spring Invite. Concordia finished sixth out of 11 teams in the field.
Sixty-five golfers were forced to grind through day one of the Bethel Spring Invitational held in Hesston, Kansas, where Concordia stands in sixth place. Jake Richmond shot a 75 in round one of the tournament.
A match that came down to the wire went the other way as the Bulldogs wrapped up the Briar Cliff Match Play Tournament with a 3-2 loss to Briar Cliff. Concordia wound up in sixth place.
In a unique match play event hosted by Briar Cliff, the Bulldogs bounced back from a loss to Dordt and defeated Mount Marty on Thursday (March 27). Concordia is aiming to claim fifth place on Friday.
The best tournament placement of Jake Richmond's collegiate career led to recognition on Wednesday (March 26). The junior from Elkhorn, Neb., was named the GPAC Golfer of the Week.
While making a run at a tournament championship, junior Jake Richmond placed third at the Doane Invite. As a team, the Bulldog 'A' grouping placed sixth, making significant improvement on day two.
