Options for Portland M.Ed. Students
As a student enrolled in a M.Ed. program at Concordia Portland, you have two options you can consider at Concordia Nebraska. The preferred option is through a partnered teach-out. Your second option is by transferring fully to Concordia Nebraska.
Teach-out Students
Concordia Nebraska and Concordia Portland have developed a preferred teach-out partnership for Master of Education students to provide you with an opportunity to complete your academic program seamlessly. Benefits to you:
- Complete your program near your original timeline by eliminating the need to transfer courses, add additional hours to your program or reapply for admission
- Stay enrolled though your familiar course processes, including established courses in your program
- Keep with your five-week course schedule and flexible online delivery
- Learn from your familiar professors
- Continue working with your student service advisors
- Maintain your current tuition and scholarships
- No application required
Teach-Out Next Steps
- You will be contacted via email by the Concordia Portland Registrars office with a Student Information acknowledgement form by Friday, February 21. This will authorize your academic record to transition to Concordia Nebraska.
- A Student Success team member will coordinate with you on next steps.
- Continue attending the classes you're enrolled in.

This teach-out has been approved by the Concordia Portland and Concordia Nebraska accrediting agencies.
Fully Transfer to Concordia Nebraska (non teach-out students)
Through this option, you can enroll in one of Concordia Nebraska's fully-online Master of Education programs. The benefits to you:
- Take advantage of generous transfer opportunities to ensure all CUP course credits count toward your program
- Receive a special Concordia Portland discounted tuition rate on top of our already low $425 per credit hour rate, lowering your overall cost of completion
- A streamlined admission process with no need for new admissions collateral like essays or letters of recommendation
- Admissions decisions will be made quickly based on your GPA provided during admission. Transcripts from Concordia Portland will be used later in the process for your official record
- Receive an NCATE-accredited degree upon completion
- Our courses are 8 weeks, allowing for you to complete your degree quickly but with time to retain information and not feel rushed

Your First Step: Apply for Admission
As a student in good standing at Concordia Portland, you'll be guaranteed quick admission to a matching program at Concordia Nebraska. We'll waive transcript requirements for your admission decision, letters of intent and essays to prioritize your enrollment into your academic program.
After you apply to Concordia Nebraska, please contact Portland and ask them to send us your transcript so we can evaluate which coursework you’ll need to finish out your program.
Upon acceptance to Concordia Nebraska, we'll waive your enrollment fee and work with you on a customized, individual academic program plan to get you through to receiving your degree in a timely fashion.
