After three regular-season tournaments, the Concordia Men’s Golf team now preps for the fall portion of the 2020-21 GPAC Championships. It will take place Sept. 28-29 in Elkhorn, Neb.
The Bulldogs put together a solid two-day run in Lawrence, Kan., where they placed fifth at the Ottawa Fall Invite. Four Concordia golfers shot in the 70s in round two.
Three Bulldogs shot 75 or better as the Bulldogs carded a season low team score on day one of the Ottawa Fall Invite. Concordia is seven strokes off the lead heading into day two.
In wrapping up its second event of the fall, the Concordia Men's Golf Team placed seventh at the Siouxland Invite. Individually, freshman Ivan Yabut placed 21st to lead the Bulldogs.
Led by freshman Ivan Yabut, the Bulldogs turned in their top round of the young season while in action at the Siouxland Invite. Concordia sits in seventh place heading into Tuesday.
Young Bulldogs such as Nathan Auffet, Drew D'Ercole and Ivan Yabut led the way as Concordia improved vastly on day two of the Blue River Classic co-hosted with Doane.
In rainy and windy conditions on Tuesday (Sept. 8), the Bulldogs opened the season by carding a 356 in round one of the Blue River Classic. Freshman Ivan Yabut paced Concordia with an 84.
Ten teams and a total of 75 golfers will make up the field at the 2020 Blue River Classic, which will be co-hosted by Concordia along with Doane on Sept. 8-9.
After a seventh-place GPAC finish, the Concordia men’s squad is looking improve in 2020-2021.
After having most of the spring 2020 season wiped out, the Concordia men's golf program hopes to pick things back up this fall. Five tournaments (10 dates) are on the fall 2020 slate.
Behind the likes of Russell Otten and Nolan Zikas, the 2017-18 Concordia men's golf team has hopes of moving up the conference standings. The Bulldogs open their season Sept. 1 at the Midland Invite.
Nolan Zikas is a winner. In life. On the course. Said Zikas, "I enjoy being an inspiration. I like telling my story. I want kids to know that they can overcome this."

Consider Concordia junior Reid Wiebe the Happy Gilmore of GPAC golfers. No, Wiebe does not stutter step his way into his tee shot, but his powerful drives are enough to make Shooter McGavin jealous. Wiebe attacks par fives with the tenacity of a Seward squirrel on an acorn.
Both Concordia golf programs continued their ascent in the league standings in 2014-15. Now in his fifth season, head coach Brett Muller expects his squads to produce even better results throughout the 2015-16 campaign.
