Concordia University, Nebraska today announced that the university will introduce a new course in its Master of Business Administration program in summer 2026. MBA 561: Theology of Work & Christian Ethics in Business is new graduate-level course designed to equip current and aspiring business leaders to thoughtfully integrate Christian faith with professional practice.

MBA 561 invites students to explore Scripture’s teaching on work, vocation, and stewardship, examining how these theological foundations apply directly to modern organizational life. Through engagement with biblical texts, theological writings, and real-world business case studies, students will develop a robust framework for navigating ethical dilemmas with wisdom, integrity, and discernment. Rather than separating faith from the marketplace, the course emphasizes integration—challenging students to consider how Christian values such as justice, service, human dignity, and responsibility should shape leadership practices, corporate culture, and long-term organizational impact.

“The course equips MBA students to integrate faith, leadership and ethical decision-making in a way that is biblically grounded, professionally relevant and mission driven."

"MBA 561 is an important addition to the MBA program because it moves students beyond viewing business as merely a career, helping them understand it as a God-given calling,” said Concordia Nebraska MBA Program Director Dr. George Arnold. “The course equips MBA students to integrate faith, leadership and ethical decision-making in a way that is biblically grounded, professionally relevant and mission driven."

MBA 561 reflects Concordia Nebraska’s commitment to forming leaders who are not only skilled and strategic, but also principled and mission-driven. Students completing this course will be equipped to lead with conviction, navigate ethical complexity with confidence and view their professional roles as meaningful avenues for service. Theology of Work & Christian Ethics in Business offers a distinctive opportunity to engage business education through the lens of faith—preparing graduates to make a lasting, Christ-centered impact in their organizations and communities.
