Concordia University, Nebraska alumni receive 2024 LCMS Nebraska District honors

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) Nebraska District held its annual All Professional Church Workers’  Conference Oct. 17-18, 2024. As part of the conference, outstanding educators were recognized for their faithful leadership and dedication to their respective schools and/or congregations. 

Four Concordia University, Nebraska alumni were honored with awards: 

  • Todd Voss ’92, principal at Deshler Lutheran School—Administrator of the Year 

  • Kayla Marty ’05, teacher at Concordia Lutheran School of Omaha – Elementary Educator of the Year 

  • Jonathan Baumgartel ’96, teacher at St. John Lutheran School, Battle Creek, Neb.—Middle/High School Educator of the Year 

  • Ann Anderson ’96, Director of Christian Education at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Holdrege, Neb.—Parish Worker of the Year 

Award winners are nominated by peers, pastors, parents, school board members, current or former students or members of their congregations and must be actively serving as a full-time employee of an LCMS entity. A selection committee then makes the final determination for each award. 

Concordia University, Nebraska education alumni consistently serve with distinction in their schools and congregations, making a significant impact on their communities and the greater mission of the church.
