Concordia University, Nebraska’s premier instrumental ensemble, the University Wind Symphony, will travel to Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas on their 2025 spring tour from March 7-17, 2025.

The group tours each year locally and throughout the United States. This year’s tour will take them as far as the Southern Coast. It will include concerts at churches in Houston, Tomball, San Antonio and Austin, Texas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and others.

The Wind Symphony regularly performs full-length concerts and participates in school assemblies and Sunday worship services. Their repertoire is diverse; features at each 2025 tour stop include compositions by traditional composers such as Alfred Reed, John Philip Sousa and more as well as modern composers such as Katahj Copley, William Owens and Danielle Fischer.

The theme of this year’s tour will be the text of Romans 8:38-39: “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The band is under the direction of Robert Cody, Assistant Professor of Music at Concordia Nebraska. Cody earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Concordia Nebraska, a master’s degree in music education and conducting emphasis from Colorado State University and is pursuing a doctorate in instrumental conducting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Admission to concerts is free, and free-will offerings will be collected at each concert to assist with tour costs.
