Meet Studia Vitae instructor Josh Douglas

Josh Douglas ‘05 is a Gift Planning Advocate with The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). Prior to accepting this position in 2023, he served the church as a social studies and music teacher, marketing and development director and principal in Lutheran schools in Slovakia, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Missouri. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a Lutheran Teacher’s Diploma from Concordia University, Nebraska.
In May, Douglas will also serve as an instructor for Concordia University, Nebraska’s non-credit continuing education and lifelong learning program called Studia Vitae, teaching a course titled “Building Donor Relationships and Partnerships.” Studia Vitae offers Christ-centered continuing education opportunities in a variety of focused areas through an online scheduled and self-paced learning platform.
Douglas’ Studia Vitae course is designed for Christian nonprofit leaders, pastors, school administrators and nonprofit board members but is open to anyone and will help participants develop strong donor relationships that advance their mission.
In his spare time, Douglas enjoys meeting new people, studying genealogy, gardening, taking walks and playing games with his family, and leading adult Bible class and serving as an elder at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. He also equips future servant-leader cadets as a Second Lieutenant with the Civil Air Patrol, the auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Josh and his wife, Angie, have been joyfully married for almost 22 years and live in Missouri with their four children — Lille, Andrew, Patton and Edith — and their Great Pyrenees, Yuri.
Registration is now open for the Building Donor Relationships and Partnerships course and additional offerings in Concordia University, Nebraska’s Studia Vitae program. Each CEU course is $150 and is delivered in six one-hour sessions. Exclusive pricing is available for program participants who are members of preferred partner organizations. The short, focused sessions are available as scheduled webinars that will also be recorded for future viewing. Enrollment is flexible and open to anyone with no prerequisites required, and no commitment is needed to take additional classes.
