Meet Studia Vitae instructor Rev. Dr. Michael Fieberkorn

Rev. Dr. Michael Fieberkorn

Rev. Dr. Michael Fieberkorn serves as associate pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Missouri. In July, Fieberkorn will also serve as an instructor for Concordia University, Nebraska’s Studia Vitae non-credit continuing education and lifelong learning program teaching a course titled “Theology of the Body.” Studia Vitae offers Christ-centered continuing education opportunities in a variety of focused areas through an online, scheduled and self-paced learning platform.  

Fieberkorn is a 2003 graduate of the Air Force Academy where he played football for the legendary Fisher DeBerry, and served six years in the active duty Air Force. He continues to serve in the Reserves. He is a graduate of Concordia Seminary, earning his M.Div. in 2013, and Ph.D. in 2021. He has served as an LCMS pastor for 13 years and is the author of the CPH book “Battle of the Soul: Luther Reforms Vice and Virtue,” published in 2023. Dr. Fieberkorn has been married to his wife Angela for 22 years, and they have three children: Jacob (19), Kayla (17), and Logan (13). 

Fieberkorn will present Studia Vitae’s Theology of the Body on Mondays from July 6 to August 14 at 6 p.m. CT. 

Fieberkorn’s course explores how the Christian Theology of the Body illuminates sport as a powerful arena for understanding the body as God’s gift, cultivating virtue through discipline and suffering, resisting idolatry, fostering community, honoring male and female embodiment and ultimately pointing us toward resurrection hope.  

Registration is now open for this course and additional offerings in Concordia University, Nebraska’s Studia Vitae program. Each CEU course is $150 and is delivered in six one-hour sessions. Exclusive pricing isavailable for program participants who are members of preferred partner organizations. The short, focused sessions are available as scheduled webinars that will also be recorded for future viewing. Enrollment is flexible and open to anyone with no prerequisites required, and no commitment is needed to take additional classes.
