Meet Studia Vitae instructors Scott Huster and Jill Oetting

Scott Huster serves as head of school at Immanuel Lutheran School in St. Charles, Missouri, alongside Jill Oetting, who serves as principal. In March, the duo will co-lead a course in Concordia University, Nebraska’s Studia Vitae non-credit continuing education and lifelong learning program titled “Student Engagement to Support Positive Behaviors in the Classroom.” Studia Vitae offers Christ-centered continuing education opportunities in a variety of focused areas through an online scheduled and self-paced learning platform.
Huster has nearly 24 years of experience in education including 14 years in school administration. He has a degree in secondary education with a broad-field social studies emphasis from Concordia University Wisconsin and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University, St. Paul.
Oetting has 33 years in public school education including special education, early childhood through fifth grade, high school and administration. She is a graduate of Missouri State University where she completed her bachelors degrees and Lindenwood University where she completed her educational specialist and doctoral studies of school administration.
Designed for current and future Christian educators but open to anyone, Huster and Oetting's course equips participants to create engaging, inclusive learning environments that promote positive student behavior and success. Through reflection and practice, educators will develop clear, caring strategies to collaborate with families and respond to student behavior.
