Everything feels really friendly. Even though I’m eleven hours away from home, I don’t feel like it’s that far away.
Austin Romine was nervous about moving to Seward. He considers the Texas town he’s from to be small, and it has sixty thousand people. But after visiting and feeling the atmosphere at Concordia, everywhere else felt like a visit. Concordia felt like home. “The overall experience that Concordia has given me and the friends I’ve made, it’s really incredible,” he says. “Everything feels really friendly. Even though I’m eleven hours away from home, I don’t feel like it’s that far away.”
Austin is a studio art major, and his professors are a big part of making Concordia feel like a family. “The professors and everybody care about you,” he says. “They know when you’re having a bad day, and they know what music you like listening to. They know who your friends are, and there are inside jokes with almost all my professors.”
