That is one of the best ways to learn—just to be immersed in what you are doing.
Courtney Hiegel’s favorite thing about the education program at Concordia is the teaching experience she gets before she even graduates. “We get to go out to schools in the area for field experiences,” she says, “and that is one of the best ways to learn—just to be immersed in what you are doing.”
After graduation, Courtney wants to start a daycare for special needs children. But in the meantime, she’s just enjoying her time in college. “Concordia is a great school,” she says. “We are all very close and there are lots of activities for students to join. Also, the professors truly care about you and your future. I think at bigger colleges when there are hundreds of students in a class you are just a number. At Concordia, you are a person with a goal in mind. The professors want you to be able to reach that goal.”
