There are so many ministry opportunities on campus. I enjoy being able to worship at chapel and PRAISE. I also enjoy being able to use my gifts to serve through Mission Minded Students and Concordia Youth Ministry.
Chloe Dahn is in the home stretch of her first semester at Concordia and she is loving it. “When I visited, everything about it seemed to make sense. I loved the layout, the people, and the awesome Director of Christian Education (DCE) program. Everything about it made me feel at home.”
Even though Chloe is now very excited about being a DCE, that wasn’t always the case. “I wanted to do early childhood education for a long time. I just felt more comfortable around younger kids. Then, during my senior year of high school, I spent a lot of time volunteering at my church. I did work with the smaller kids, but I also became a small group leader for the older kids. I kind of realized the impact the gospel can have on all people, and I wanted that to be my vocation.”
Chloe likes that there are many ministry opportunities on campus to be involved with. “There are so many ministry opportunities on campus. I enjoy being able to worship at chapel and PRAISE. I also enjoy being able to use my gifts to serve through Mission Minded Students and Concordia Youth Ministry.”
Even though Chloe has only accomplished one semester of college, she feels like she has learned a lot. “I am learning right now that I probably shouldn’t have procrastinated as much as I did. Even though I did procrastinate, I also used the tools at my disposal. I go to the Academic Resource Center quite often to get my papers edited, and the students there are always very helpful.”
Chloe believes this philosophy applies to making friends as well. “I’ve made lots of friends pretty easily, but I had to put myself out there first. There are lots of events on campus, and everyone is very welcoming, but you must be willing to jump in.”
