Cristina Vlad Hayes, who is originally from Romania, is a collaborative pianist and adjudicator in the Lincoln/Omaha area. She is on the faculty of Concordia University, and Peru State College.
Vlad Hayes holds a Bachelor of Music from Gheorghe Dima Music Academic in Cluj-Napoca, Romania; a master’s degree and artist’s diploma from Bowling Green State University; and a D.M.A. in piano performance from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her primary tutors have been Ninuca Pop, Nina Panieva, Maxim Magilevski, Virgina Marks, Thomas Rosenkranz, and Mark Clinton.
Throughout her career, Vlad Hayes has actively performed in solo and collaborative settings in Romania, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Germany, Serbia, Austria and the United States, with her performances yielding numerous honors and awards. Her interest in contemporary music led her to premiere numerous new solo and chamber works. She has performed in new music festivals in Romania, Italy and the United States.
Vlad Hayes has taught piano privately in Nebraska and Ohio in collegiate studio and group settings. A passionate chamber musician who believes in giving back to the community, she especially enjoys sharing the gift of music with wider audiences in churches, schools and retirement communities, where she also takes her students to perform. In her teaching, Vlad Hayes encourages pianists at every level to reach their full potential and hopes to instill in them a lifelong love for music.
