Jessica Brashear is the program director for the Master of Arts in School Counseling at Concordia University, Nebraska. In her role as program director, she aligns all standards with accrediting organizations, manages faculty and student concerns, teaches the school counseling practicum course and oversees internships. Brashear also serves as the PK-8 professional school counselor at St. John Lutheran School in Seward, Nebraska.
Brashear earned her B.S. in Psychology and M.A. in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. Before becoming the school counseling program director at Concordia, she served as a high school counselor with Omaha Public Schools and taught courses as an adjunct professor at Concordia.
Brashear is passionate about social-emotional learning and educating the whole child. She works to remove the stigmas surrounding mental illness and to educate others on the importance of mental health. She enjoys traveling with her husband, Kurth, and their three children.
