Kim Boyce is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than two decades of leadership experience in human services and behavioral health. Boyce has been at Concordia University, Nebraska, since 2018, where he serves as both the Chief Operating Officer and Professor of Practice of Psychology at Concordia University, Nebraska, where he brings a blend of clinical insight, executive leadership and real-world application to the classroom.
Over the course of his career, Boyce has led organizations that support individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance use disorders. He has founded five human services organizations and six additional businesses, three of which he served as Executive Director. He currently owns and operates a developmental disabilities service provider in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, as well as assisted living properties in Phoenix, Arizona.
Boyce’s leadership experience extends to both nonprofit and public-private partnerships. He served in two gubernatorial administrations as a Public Policy Director, shaping human service legislation and strategy at the state level. His administrative strengths include business development, financial oversight, staff development and nonprofit board facilitation.
In addition to his duties as COO, Boyce teaches courses in counseling, abnormal psychology, personality theory and organizational psychology. His approach to teaching is grounded in practical experience, allowing students to connect psychological theory with the realities of professional practice.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries from John Brown University and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University.
Outside of his professional roles, Boyce is active in church and community life. He is a speaker and teacher at Calvary Community Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, and serves on the advisory board for the Nebraska Foster Care Review Office and the Lancaster County Mental Health Review Board. He also facilitates strategic planning initiatives for nonprofit organizations.
Boyce and his wife, Kristi, live in Nebraska and have two children, Kaleb and Hannah.
