Terms and Conditions
Please read the Terms and Conditions below before accepting your financial aid offer. By accepting your offer, you accept all stated terms. Your financial aid offer is in compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies. It is based on the information we have as of the date of the email and/or mail notification that was sent to you indicating your on-line financial aid offer is ready.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Your financial aid is subject to revision if your circumstances change (i.e. FAFSA results change, additional aid is received or canceled, and/or your eligibility status changes).
- You are required to notify the Financial Aid Office of the receipt of any outside aid. Please send a copy of any documentation you have to our office immediately for processing. Outside aid includes but is not limited to employer reimbursements, scholarships, and Veteran’s Benefits.
- If you are attending more than one school at any given time, you are required to contact the Financial Aid Office and proceed as directed.
- Certain Concordia University scholarships are funded through the generosity of individuals and organizations outside of the university. By accepting any institutional aid, you may be asked to write a letter of appreciation to personally thank the donor. Failure to meet this requirement will result in forfeiture of the scholarship. (Instructions to follow from the Development Office).
- All unsatisfied disbursement requirements must be met prior to the disbursement of a particular Fund (i.e. submission of a District Aid application, master promissory note, entrance counseling, etc.).
- You consent to the use of an electronic record and electronic transactions related to your financial aid. Such transactions may take the form of electronic acceptance of these terms via the CUNE portal, or of emails and attachments, or of electronic completion of forms.
- Institutional Aid Policy: University scholarships and/or grants will automatically be reduced if the financial aid from all resources exceeds the cost of attendance, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
LOANS
- By accepting the loans you are agreeing to the terms and conditions as set forth in my master promissory note, which must be completed separately if required.
- By applying for a Federal Direct PLUS Loan, your parent must complete a PLUS Loan Confirmation Statement and, if required, a Master Promissory Note. To be eligible for the loan, the borrowing parent must have satisfactory credit.
COST OF ATTENDANCE
- The financial aid offer is based on the Cost of Attendance. The Cost of Attendance is the maximum amount of funding you are able to receive in an academic year, from all sources combined.
- Direct costs are the costs billed by CUNE that normally include tuition, fees, and room and board, if applicable.
- In addition to the direct costs, an estimated amount is calculated for indirect costs (not billed by CUNE) such as books, travel, and personal expenses.
- The direct and indirect costs together represent the estimated "Cost of Attendance" for a typical, full-time (12-18 credit hours per semester) undergraduate student. Your loan eligibility is determined by subtracting scholarships and grants from the Cost of Attendance amount. Please do not take out more in loans than you need without exploring all other financing options first.
You can find more information about cost of attendance at the Concordia University Direct & Indirect Costs page.
