Faith Based Scholarships
The following scholarships are available to students enrolling in one of Concordia’s church work programs (Director Of Christian Education, Director Of Parish Music, Lutheran Teacher Diploma, Pre-Deaconess and Pre-Seminary), as well as students from select congregations.

Receive at least $20,000 through the Lutheran Guarantee
We’re committed to ensuring our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ have the opportunity to receive a Lutheran, Christ-centered education. Through our Lutheran Guarantee, you can receive at least $20,000 per year in institutional aid.
See if you qualifyLCMS Church Work Scholarship - $2,500/yr
Awarded to LCMS students enrolled in one of Concordia's church work programs. This award is designed to assist those seeking professional church work positions within the LCMS. Renewed annually with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Financial need is not required.
Congregations for Concordia University, Nebraska Scholarship - $1,100/yr
Awarded by the Congregations for Concordia University, Nebraska.
Student must be a member of a CCUNE congregation. Automatically awarded upon church membership confirmation and renewable for three consecutive years.
Lutheran Heritage Award - $2,500/yr
Any student belonging to a Lutheran denomination is eligible for this award.
Koch Scholarship - $1,500/yr
Requires admittance into the pre-seminary program.
Marflow Endowment - amount varies
Requires admittance into the pre-seminary program. Available for juniors or seniors.
Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Thom Endowment - amount varies
Requires admittance into the pre-seminary program. Available for juniors or seniors.
Church Work Scholarship Stacking Scenarios
Concordia is dedicated to providing the next generation of church workers with an excellent Christ-centered Lutheran education that will equip you to learn, serve and lead your future constituents.
If you are offered multiple scholarships through Concordia, most will be stacked upon each other. Here are some examples of how scholarship stacking works. Any scholarships you receive from outside entities will be added on top of what you receive from Concordia.
Church Work Student 1
Has a 3.8 GPA, will be a church worker and belongs to a CCUNE congregation.

• + LCMS Church Work ($2,500)
• + Concordia Promises ($2,000)
• + CCUNE ($1,100)
Total: $25,600
Church Work Student 2
Has a 4.0 GPA, plus minimum President’s scholarship test score and will be a church worker.

• + Concordia Promises ($2,000)
Total: $30,500
Church Work Student 3
Has a 3.3 GPA, will be a church worker, belongs to a CCUNE congregation and is on the Debate team.

Outside Scholarships
LCMS Congregational Aid - Various Amounts
Awarded by congregations to assist LCMS students with educational expenses.
We encourage you to inquire about the availability of this aid, especially if you will be pursuing a professional church work program at Concordia.
LCMS District Aid - Various Amounts
Awarded by the districts of the LCMS.
Student must be a member of an LCMS congregation and enrolled in a professional church work program at Concordia. The FAFSA is required to be filed to determine need. All districts have deadlines and funds are limited. Download and submit the District Financial Aid application to Concordia's Financial Aid Office before your district's deadline. Vogt Scholarship
Awarded by the Gil and Blondie Vogt Scholarship Fund
Students must be a Nebraska resident, a member of the LCMS, enrolled in a professional church work program at Concordia and be able to demonstrate substantial financial need. If interested in applying for the scholarship, please send a letter expressing your interest and qualifications to:
