Rev. Dr. Paul Robinson to speak at Concordia University, Nebraska

Rev. Dr. Paul Robinson will be presenting “Fooling Around with Councils and Fathers: Luther’s Critique of Authority and Late Medieval Ecclesiology” as part of the 500th Reformation Anniversary Lecture Series at the Concordia University, Nebraska campus Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m. in the Weller Chapel.

Dr. Paul Robinson graduated from Concordia University, Chicago, in 1989 and later went on to earn his Master of Divinity and Master of Sacred Theology from the Concordia Seminary. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and moved to St. Louis where he currently works as a professor of historical theology and the dean of faculty at the Concordia Seminary.

During his time at Seminary, Robinson served as the advisor of Ph.D. student David Coe, who is currently associate professor of theology at Concordia University, Nebraska.

Robinson is the editor of “The Annotated Luther Volume 3: Church and Sacraments”, to which he also contributed the selection “On the Councils and the Church.” He is the author of the biography “Martin Luther: A Life Reformed” and has written essays and articles for various journals and publications. In addition, Robinson has presented at conferences around the country and internationally. His areas of interest and expertise include the late medieval church, Martin Luther and the history of preaching.

Concordia University, Nebraska, will host nine guest speakers as part of the 500th Reformation Anniversary Lecture Series, all of whom will present on a variety of topics related to the Reformation. Following each lecture, there will be time to ask questions as well as meet the presenter. All presentations are free and open to the public.
