314-497-3014 doug.kuhlmann@cune.eduDr. Doug Kuhlmann serves as Program Director for the Master of Science in Athletics Administration (M.S.A.A.) and the Master of Science in Athletic Coaching (M.S.A.C.) programs at Concordia University, Nebraska. In addition to his work in higher education, Dr. Kuhlmann remains active in Lutheran education, serving as Head of School, former Athletic Administrator and coach at Lutheran High School in St. Charles, Missouri. He teaches graduate-level courses in athletic administration, leadership and coaching pedagogy.
Dr. Kuhlmann has authored and developed multiple graduate courses in the M.S.A.A., M.S.A.C. and MBA programs at Concordia. His teaching focuses on the intersection of athletics, leadership and faith-based education, with a particular emphasis on coaching development, sports leadership and fundraising.
Active in professional organizations, Dr. Kuhlmann holds the Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) credential through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) and serves as Missouri’s state Leadership Training Institute (LTI) coordinator. He regularly teaches NIAAA leadership courses nationwide, and consults on athletic department development. Dr. Kuhlmann is committed to equipping future administrators and coaches with the skills to lead Christ-centered, student-first athletic programs.
Dr. Kuhlmann earned his Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in sports leadership from Concordia University Chicago. He also holds three Master’s degrees: Educational Administration (M.Ed.), Business Administration (MBA), and Human Resource Management (M.S.H.R.M.). He and his wife, Sara, also a Lutheran administrator, reside in St. Louis with their three daughters. As a family, they enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors. Dr. Kuhlmann is a big fan of the Oregon Ducks and Seattle Seahawks.
