Concordia University Athletics has announced the hiring of David Chouinard. Formerly an assistant athletic trainer for Arizona Christian University (ACU), Chouinard started his role as Assistant Athletic Trainer on June 27. Chouinard will assist the Bulldog Athletic Training Department as the primary AT for football, wrestling, and baseball.

Hailing from Omaha, Neb., Chouinard served at the NAIA level and the ACU Athletic Training Department for five years working as the main contact for wrestling and swim programs. He joins a Concordia athletic staff including Kyli Haines, Shelby Svatora and Head Athletic Trainer Randy Baack.

Said Chouinard, “I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to work at Concordia University. Everyone I have met has been welcoming and made me feel a part of the team. The great thing about athletic training is that it offers such a unique environment. No day is the exact same and each day presents its own opportunities and challenges. At the same time, one of my favorite things about athletic training is that it allows for building strong relationships with fellow athletic trainers, coaches, and athletes. I am looking forward to building a future here at Concordia.”

Added Baack, “I am very pleased and excited to add David to our staff. It will be nice for him to be back closer to family after coming from Arizona. We know he will be an integral part of our Athletic Training Staff and a valuable member of Bulldog Nation!”

David graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He continued his education earning a Master of Science in Athletic Training at Still University. Outside of his professional work, David's interests include camping, hiking and spending time with his friends and family.
