SEWARD, Neb. – For their performances throughout the calendar month, basketball standouts Abby Krieser and Noah Schutte have been selected as the Bulldog Athletic Association Member Athletes (BAAM) of the Month for February 2025. The winners emerged from a vote conducted on Tuesday (March 4) among attendees at the BAAM luncheon. BAAM luncheons are held every Tuesday at 12 p.m. CT at the Dog House Grill when classes are in session.
A multiple time All-GPAC honoree, Krieser completed her collegiate basketball career this 2024-25 season. During the month of February, the Lincoln North Star High School alum averaged 10.4 points, 3.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game in seven outings. Over that stretch, Krieser shot 46.6 percent (27-for-58) from the floor and 80 percent (16-for-20) from the foul line. Her season high of 21 points came versus Dakota Wesleyan on Feb. 15. Krieser concluded her collegiate career with 933 points, 341 rebounds, 179 steals and 171 assists in 112 games. The three-time All-GPAC honoree helped lead the 2023-24 team to 27 wins and a trip to the NAIA national tournament final site.
An all-time great in the annals of program history, Schutte has one more national tournament run to look forward to. During the month of February, the Laurel, Neb., native averaged 14.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 58.7 percent (27-for-46) from the floor, 50 percent (6-for-12) from beyond the arc and 55.6 percent (10-for-18) from the free throw line in seven games. The Bulldogs went 6-1 as a team during that timeframe. Entering this season, Schutte had twice been named a First Team All-GPAC selection and was tabbed a 2023-24 NAIA Third Team All-American. In 144 career games, Schutte has totaled 2,291 points, 928 rebounds and 266 assists.
BAAM Athletes of the Month are rewarded out of the pool of student-athletes that garner BAAM Athlete of the Week recognition throughout the month.
