SEWARD, Neb. – Previously slated to play each other in Fort Scott, Kan., the Concordia University, Nebraska Baseball program and former GPAC rival Jamestown have agreed upon an alternative location. The two sides are now scheduled to play Sunday-Monday (Feb. 23-24) at Piedmont High School in Piedmont, Okla. A doubleheader will take place on both days. The change was necessitated by unplayable conditions in Fort Scott.

Revised Schedule - Concordia vs. Jamestown:

--All games at Piedmont HS in Piedmont, Okla.

  • Sunday, Feb. 23 - Concordia vs. Jamestown, 12 p.m. DH
  • Monday, Feb. 24 - Concordia vs. Jamestown, 10 a.m. DH

Head Coach Ryan Dupic’s program had already canceled four games that were slated to take place in Joplin, Mo., Feb. 15-16. The 20th-ranked Bulldogs have been idle since playing three times Feb. 7-8 in Oklahoma City, Okla., where they earned two wins over No. 23 Oklahoma City University, 11-7 and 15-3, and one over No. 15 Bellevue University, 2-1. As a result of his first outing in nearly two years, Alex Johnson was named the GPAC Pitcher of the Week.

Jamestown owns a 6-2 record this season with each of the eight games having taken place back in the fall. Head Coach Tom Hager's squad went 3-1 against Mayville State University (N.D.) and 3-1 versus Dickinson State University (N.D.). The JImmies are in their final year as an NAIA member before transitioning to NCAA Division II. The Jamestown roster includes three players who were named First Team All-GPAC selections last season: second baseman Alex Alva and pitchers Avery Liestman and Ethan Petty.
