SEWARD, Neb. – Make it back-to-back GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Player of the Week awards for Jaidan Quinn. The Concordia University Baseball team’s star third baseman keeps raking in honors while raking at the plate. Quinn was recognized on Tuesday (March 5) with GPAC Player of the Week accolades one week after he was tabbed the NAIA National Player of the Week.
Quinn has taken over the NAIA national home run lead thanks to an eye-popping run through the nonconference schedule. Between Feb. 20 – March 2, Quinn homered in eight of nine games (including six in a row). The latest GPAC honor took into account the three-game series played over the weekend at Keiser University (Fla.). During that series, Quinn went 5-for-13 (.385) with five runs scored, four home runs and nine RBIs. Quinn blasted two homers in game two of a series that saw the Bulldogs take two of three.
On the season, Quinn is hitting .500 (27-for-54) with 12 home runs and 31 RBIs to go along with a .583 on-base percentage and 1.296 slugging percentage. In 132 career games at Concordia, Quinn has totaled 58 home runs and 161 RBIs while hitting .366 with a .517 on-base percentage and .861 slugging percentage.
Quinn and the Bulldogs (12-4) are in the midst of their spring break stay in Florida. Concordia will take part in the Warner University Invitational Thursday through Saturday.
