2024 Concordia Baseball Schedule
SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University Baseball program has unveiled its 2024 varsity schedule. As of Wednesday (Oct. 18), the ’24 regular season slate features 50 total games, including the usual 28 versus GPAC opponents. The schedule mirrors the 2023 rundown with return trips to destinations such as Oklahoma City and West Palm Beach, Fla. Head Coach Ryan Dupic’s 10th year leading the program is set to get underway on Feb. 10, 2024.
Dupic’s program will enter 2024 as one of seven NAIA baseball outfits nationally to have won at least 40 games in each of the past three seasons. The ’23 Bulldogs finished at 40-18 overall while making another appearance in the opening round of the NAIA National Championship tournament. The offensive lineup keeps setting new standards as the 2023 squad broke program records in a season for home runs (117) and runs scored (581). Concordia will return GPAC Player of the Year Joey Grabanski and six other All-GPAC players: Jay Adams, Alec Blakestad, Caden Johnson, Ty Nekoliczak, Jaidan Quinn and Tanner Tompkins.
For the second year in a row, the Bulldogs will open a season at the home of Oklahoma City University. Over two days (Feb. 10-11), Concordia will play host Oklahoma City twice and Bellevue University once. Bellevue finished last season ranked No. 5 in the NAIA. The nonconference schedule will continue with four games in Joplin, Mo., Feb. 17-18, and four games against Culver-Stockon College (Mo.) in Fort Scott, Kan., Feb. 24-25. The Bulldogs will then head to The Sunshine State for spring break and will play on the home diamond of Keiser University while also taking part in the RussMatt Invitational and the Warner University Invitational. Specific opponents for those invitationals will be announced at a later date.
Upon return from the spring break trip, Concordia will open GPAC play against arch nemesis Doane on March 16. That rematch of the 2023 GPAC tournament championship game will take place at Plum Creek Park in the 2024 home opener for the Bulldogs. The GPAC regular season is scheduled to wrap up with a home twin bill versus Dakota Wesleyan on April 27. There are four conference teams that Concordia will have a four-game series with: Northwestern (March 22-23), Dordt (March 29-30), Midland (April 6-7) and Morningside (April 13-14).
Dates for the GPAC tournament are May 2-4 for pod play and May 7 for the conference tournament championship game. Dates for the NAIA National Championship are May 13-16 for the opening round and May 24-31 for the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.
