The Bulldog bats were held down on Monday (May 16) as Concordia fell at the hands of Judson, 5-1, in the opening game of the Bellevue Bracket at the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. Joey Grabanski drove in the lone Bulldog run.
For a second year in a row, Concordia will attempt to win the Bellevue Bracket and advance to the NAIA World Series. The national tournament run begins Monday morning with a matchup versus Judson University.
For his work in the classroom and on the baseball field, Jesse Garcia has been named a CoSIDA Academic All-District award winner for the third time. Garcia studies Criminal Justice and has been one of the program's all-time best sluggers.
Champion of the 2021 Bellevue Bracket and NAIA World Series qualifier, Concordia will make a return trip. The Bulldogs were assigned to Bellevue for the 2022 NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
A total of 12 Bulldogs from the GPAC tournament championship team have been honored as all-conference performers. The list includes five first-teamers: Jay Adams, Joey Grabanski, Jaidan Quinn, Alex Johnson and Caden Johnson.
A Jay Adams walk-off set off another celebration, this time in the GPAC Baseball Championship game. The Bulldogs outlasted Jamestown, 7-6, in 10 innings on Tuesday (May 10) while claiming their second GPAC tourney title in a row.
It's a day Jay Adams and the Concordia Baseball program will never forget. Jay Adams collected 10 hits, including the celebratory walk-off RBI single, as the Bulldogs won three times on Monday (May 9) and advanced to the GPAC title game.
Concordia came out 1-1 in a pair of GPAC tournament nail-biters on Saturday (May 7). The second-seeded Bulldogs were upset by Northwestern, 5-4 in nine innings, before they then staved off elimination in a 7-5 win over Mount Marty.
GPAC Baseball Tournament games scheduled for the Concordia Bracket on Friday (May 6) have been postponed. The adjustment was made to allow for Plum Creek Park to dry out from persistent rain over the past week.
For the third-straight season and for the fourth time in the past five seasons, Concordia Baseball will host one of two four-team pods of the GPAC tournament. Mount Marty, Briar Cliff and Northwestern will join the Bulldogs at Plum Creek Park.
