Down 8-1 after seven innings, a Concordia offense led by Joey Grabanksi and Jaidan Quinn exploded for six runs in the eighth and three in the ninth as part of a furious comeback. The Bulldogs rallied to defeat Judson, 10-9, on Tuesday (March 8).
On day two of action in Florida, the 18th-ranked Bulldogs were on the wrong side of two one-run decisions versus Indiana University South Bend. Concordia dropped the second game despite a combined no-hitter.
Concordia packed its offense on the trip to the southeast. On day one of the spring break slate, the Bulldogs combined for 29 runs on 31 hits and 14 walks in a doubleheader sweep of Cornerstone in Auburndale, Fla., on Saturday (March 5).
A trip to The Sunshine State awaits the 18th-ranked Concordia Baseball team, which is scheduled to play a total of 10 games from March 5 through 12. The slate includes a rematch of the 2021 opening round vs. No. 24 Bellevue.
In a Sunday doubleheader added to the schedule this past week, the 18th-ranked Bulldogs suffered an 11-5 loss and then settled for a 5-5 tie as darkness came over Hillsboro, Kan., home to Tabor College.
The Concordia-College of the Ozarks series has been called off due to inclement weather. The two sides had been scheduled to play four games between Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 26-27).
No. 18 Concordia excelled across the board as it defeated Viterbo, 14-3, and William Penn, 8-1, on Sunday (Feb. 20). The Bulldogs combined for 24 hits and the pitching staff allowed only two earned runs on the day.
The opening week of the 2022 season continued on Saturday (Feb. 19) as the 18th-ranked Bulldogs blew away both William Woods, 11-4, and Saint Mary, 21-2. Concordia (3-1) also got solid pitching performances in both wins.
The work of Jayden Adams at the plate and an army of pitchers paved the way for a game two win as the 18th-ranked Bulldogs opened the 2022 season at Baker on Tuesday (Feb. 15). Baker won game one, 3-0, and Concordia took game two, 7-2.
Due to chilly temperatures expected this weekend, the scheduled Saturday and Sunday doubleheaders at Baker University have been wiped out. Instead, the two sides will play a twin bill in Baldwin City, Kan., at 1 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
