While making their second appearance in three seasons at the GPAC tournament title game, the Bulldogs struggled offensively in a 3-0 loss to Jamestown. Next up is the opening round of the national tournament.
Top seeds Concordia and Jamestown are set to clash in the GPAC tournament championship game on Tuesday (May 7). Instead of meeting in Seward, the two sides will play in Yankton, S.D.
A lightning delay allowed Concordia to refocus and rally for a late come-from-behind win similar to the victory from the previous day. It's on to the GPAC championship game for head coach Ryan Dupic's squad.
Back-to-back violent swings by Teyt Johnson and Beau Dorman helped propel the Bulldogs into the driver's seat of the Concordia Bracket. Concordia defeated Dakota Wesleyan, 6-3, in postseason action on Friday (May 3).
The combo of Ben Berg and Keaton Candor combined for five extra base hits in a 12-1 thumping of Doane in GPAC tournament action on Thursday (May 2). The Bulldogs will play again at home on Friday.
A masterpiece offered up by Sasha Jabusch in the GPAC title clinching win led to the lefty hurler being named the NAIA National Pitcher of the Week. Jabusch struck out 17 batters in a two-hit shutout.
Postseason play is next on the docket for the GPAC champion Bulldogs, who are getting set to host conference tournament action beginning on Thursday. We preview the Concordia bracket.
For the second time in three years, the Concordia baseball program has celebrated a GPAC regular season title. The Bulldogs closed the regular season on Saturday (April 27) by sweeping a doubleheader from Dordt.
Coach Ryan Dupic put it simply, "They just beat us." Despite dropping a pair of games at Northwestern on Friday (April 19), the Bulldogs remain in first place with just four games left in the regular season.
The magic number for the Bulldogs to clinch the outright GPAC regular season title is down to three. Concordia won in blowout fashion and then in an extra inning white knuckler at Northwestern on Thursday (April 18).
