It was a nailbiter, but the GPAC champion Concordia baseball team again showed its mettle by fending off Briar Cliff on the opening day of the GPAC Tournament. The Bulldogs will be back at home to host Hastings on Friday.
Concordia University will provide live webcasts and statistics for all GPAC tournament baseball games taking place at Plum Creek Park in Seward, Neb. The GPAC champion Bulldogs will be in action beginning on Thursday.
Following a big week that saw Concordia clinch the GPAC regular-season title, seniors Tyler Nelson and Josh Prater have earned recognition from the conference. Both were instrumental in last week's championship push.

These are exciting times for Concordia baseball, which will head into the final weekend of the regular season tied atop the GPAC standings. The Bulldogs defeated Hastings, 3-0, on Wednesday night.
The dream is still alive for Concordia baseball. Tyler Nelson helped end a bone chilling GPAC battle with a late two-run double. The Bulldogs (26-18, 15-8 GPAC) are now a half-game out of first place.
The Concordia baseball team will play games with conference championship implications during the final week of the regular season. The Bulldogs host Hastings on Tuesday in a battle of top four teams in the conference standings.
The Concordia baseball team bounced back on Sunday (April 23) with a pair of wins over Briar Cliff at Plum Creek Park. At 14-8 in conference play, the Bulldogs remain in the hunt for a GPAC regular-season title.
