Byrd and Huebner named second team All-Nebraska by the World Herald
Concordia’s Tyler Byrd and Sam Huebner were both second team selections on the Omaha World Herald’s All-Nebraska NAIA basketball team.
Byrd, a junior from Bennington, led Concordia this past season in minutes per game, steals and assists. He was second on the team in scoring with 13 points per game. Tyler was a first team All-GPAC and honorable mention All-American selection. He started all 29 games at the point guard position for the Bulldogs.
Huebner (Aurora, Colo.) led Concordia in both scoring (14 points per game) and rebounding (8.4 rebounds per game) in his senior season. He also led the team in blocks and was second in assists and steals. Sam was named to both the Cattle Classic and Concordia Invitational All-Tournament Teams, and he was a second team All-GPAC selection this year for the Bulldogs.
Porter Birtell (Madison, Neb.) and Ryan Shrum (Allen, Texas) were honorable mention selections by the World Herald. Birtell was an honorable mention All-GPAC selection this year after averaging 11.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in his sophomore season. Shrum also picked up honorable mention All-GPAC honors this year after averaging a career-high 12.4 points per game.
