As the kickoff to a jampacked weekend, Concordia Cheer placed third at the York Invitational on Friday (Feb. 9). The Bulldogs earned a score of 75.02 while testing themselves against some of the best the NAIA has to offer.
The Concordia Cheer & Dance programs are preparing to host one of the largest competitions this season across the national landscape. The Concordia Day of Duals will take place Saturday inside Friedrich Arena.
In their bid for the program's first ever CIT title, the Bulldogs placed as the event's runner up in Saturday (Jan. 27) morning action. CUNE earned a score of 60.52 in placing behind only Concordia of Ann Arbor.
As part of the 71st Concordia Invitational Tournament, the Bulldog cheer and dance teams will vie for Concordia supremacy in Mequon. This will mark the fifth time that CIT has included cheer and dance competitions.
In opening the 2024 competition season, Concordia Cheer approached the school record while posting a score of 83.30. That total allowed the Bulldogs to defeat rival Hastings (76.95) as Emilie Ashenbach made her head coaching debut.

Effective Jan. 2, Mandi Maser and Emilie Ashenbach have taken on new roles within the Concordia Cheer & Dance programs. Ashenbach has been promoted to Head Competitive Cheer Coach while Maser has been named Competitive Spirit Coordinator.
Concordia Cheer has announced a 2024 competition schedule complete with six regular season competitive dates, beginning with a home dual. The slate includes CIT at CUW and another Concordia Duals event inside Friedrich Arena.
A trio of Bulldogs from the Concordia Competitive Cheer team has been honored with 2022-23 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition. The award winners are Kayla Johnson, Victoria Perry and Elizabeth Schultz.
For the second year in a row, Shelby Timmerman has represented the Concordia Competitive Cheer program with all-conference recognition. Timmerman was named a 2023 honorable mention All-GPAC award winner on Monday (Feb. 23).
