Bulldog cross country places eight on 2011 NAIA scholar-athlete list
Concordia University placed three men and five women on the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete list which was released on Friday. A total of 159 men and 296 women received the honor this year.
On the men’s side, Joel Heckmann (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Daniel Gibson (Grand Island, Neb.) and Colin Morrissey (Omaha, Neb.) received the honor. Sarah Kortze (Rockford, Ill.), Samantha Lathrop (Arlington, Neb.), Martha Meineke (Denver, Colo.), Anna Meyer (Seward, Neb.) and Jena Schwalenberg (Columbus, Neb.) were recognized from the Concordia women’s squad.
Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.
