The Bulldogs made waves at the Augie Twilight as the men placed fourth of 25 teams and the women finished eighth out of 26 squads. As a result of their performances in Sioux Falls, both junior Trey Robertson and sophomore Keeli Green earned GPAC Runner of the Week awards. Green ran an impressive 5k time of 17:31.9 and placed fourth overall at the Augustana Twilight. Three of her teammates also finished within the top 100: Annaka Schlachter (51st), Ashley Robertson (56th) and Alison Stepanek (89th). The Concordia women are coming off a 2024 season that saw them place fourth in the GPAC.

The men came away with results that may push them up the NAIA rankings when a new poll is released next week. Robertson finished the Augie Twilight four-miler in 19:22.8 and placed 15th overall. Notably, the Bulldogs placed in front of NAIA 14th-ranked Doane (and beat out all NAIA competition). Robertson was followed in the race by teammates Vaughn Hendrickson (19:51.0), Aidan Limback (19:58.4) and Trevor Kuncl (20:18.2). Concordia narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 2024 national meet as a team.

At last season’s Greeno/Dirksen Invite, the Bulldogs placed 12th out of 26 on the men’s side and 16th out of 22 on the women’s side on a hot and humid day. In the 8k men’s race, Hendrickson led the way by placing 31st in a time of 25:51.3. Meanwhile, the women were paced in the 5k race by Hannah Beintema, who clocked in at 19:48.1.

Following the Greeno/Dirksen Invite, Concordia will shift focus to the Briar Cliff Invite on Oct. 4. Five regular season meets make up the slate heading into the 2025 GPAC Championships.
