2023 Concordia Cross Country Schedule
SEWARD, Neb. – For the third-straight year, Concordia University Cross Country will ring in a new season at the Augustana University Twilight. The evening meet will kick off a 2023 slate complete with six regular season outings. Throughout that run, the Bulldogs will test themselves within the states of Nebraska, Minnesota and South Dakota. Head Coach Matt Beisel will enter his eighth season leading Concordia Cross Country and Track & Field in 2023-24.
This past 2022 season, Beisel led the Bulldogs to GPAC place finishes of second on the men’s side and third on the women’s side. Paced by All-GPAC honorees Kylahn Freiberg, Rylee Haecker and Julie McIntyre, the women’s team earned an at-large bid to the national championships and placed 27th in the NAIA. Camden Sesna also qualified individually on the men’s side.
During the month of September, the Bulldogs will make return trips to the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invite (Sept. 16) and the Dean White Invitational hosted by Doane (Sept. 23). Concordia also participated in those meets in 2022. New to the schedule this year will be the Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota (Sept. 22), the Briar Cliff Invite (Oct. 7) and the College of Saint Mary/Doane NAIA Classic (Oct. 21).
The 2023 GPAC Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Briar Cliff and will take place at Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve in North Sioux City, S.D., on Nov. 4. For those who qualify, the season will continue with the NAIA Cross Country National Championships at Fort Vancouver National Historic Course in Fort Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 17.
