Concordia dance team advances to National Collegiate Dance Championships
The Concordia University Dance Team has qualified for the National Collegiate Dance Championships to be held in Daytona Beach, Fla., from April 6-10.
To qualify for Nationals, the team traveled to Iowa on Feb. 12 to compete in conference where they received high marks on their routine. The team had flawless turns and strong energy which propelled them to first place in the small dance division.
This is the first time in the history of Concordia Dance that the team has qualified for the national competition. In her first year, Coach Jessica Shobe is very impressed with the progress of her team and excited for the girls to earn such a prestigious honor.
“Since the beginning of the school year, the girls have worked hard to get where they are,” noted Shobe. “I am so proud of the dancers they have become and how much they continue to grow. I hope to see them use all of their skills at Nationals and place high, hopefully winning a National Title!”
