OKLAHOMA CITY – The Concordia University dance team placed sixth with a score of 82.93 at the 2014 NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance National Invitational. Six dance and 12 cheer squads competed at the fourth annual event hosted in Oklahoma City by Oklahoma City University on Friday and Saturday.

“Having the opportunity to compete at the national invite was an honor and a wonderful opportunity for our team,” head coach Daneen Kovar Theye said. “We worked hard and gave it everything we had every time we took the floor.

“Erin Wineman and Catie Wiese had a great weekend of performances. Our captains (Wineman and Ali Schuerman) worked hard and were great leaders for the team this year. I’m proud of their efforts and thankful to have the chance to work with a great team.”

The national invite concludes the season for Kovar Theye’s team. The Bulldogs also finished fourth at the regional competition that took place in Des Moines, Iowa, at Grand View University on Feb. 15.
