SEWARD, Neb. – In its second competition of the season, the Concordia University dance team picked up a victory, triumphing over Doane, 74.7 – 70.2, on Wednesday (Feb. 8). Both teams performed during halftime of the Bulldog women’s basketball game.
First-year head coach Mandi Maser’s squad now owns a record of 1-1 overall. It dropped a 75.7 – 74 final at home versus Hastings on Jan. 25.
Maser’s competition team consisted of nine Bulldogs. The group included just one senior, McKenzie McClanahan.
Concordia now shifts its attention to the annual GPAC Cheer and Dance Championships, which will take place at Hastings on Saturday. The Bulldog dance team is slated to take the floor at 1:48 p.m. CT. For more information on the GPAC championships meet, click HERE.
The 2017 season marks the first year that the NAIA will sponsor a national championship (March 10-11) for both dance and cheer. The NAIA is the only athletics association to offer a national championship in these sports.
The NAIA North Regional Qualifying Invitational will take place in Baldwin City, Kan., on Feb. 24.
