2023 Concordia Competitive Dance Schedule
SEWARD, Neb. – Schedules for the 2023 competition season are now public (as of Wednesday, July 20) for the Concordia University Competitive Cheer & Dance programs. For dance in particular, this coming season’s slate features a total of eight events leading up to the conference championships in late February. For the fifth season in a row, the Bulldogs will host their own large-scale competition while welcoming a strong field of cheer and dance teams to Friedrich Arena on Feb. 11.
Head Coach Mandi Maser’s squads showed significant improvement again in 2022 as competition scores rose to new levels. Led by all-conference athlete Shelby Timmerman, Concordia Cheer placed fourth in the GPAC. Meanwhile, the dance team finished seventh in the GPAC. Katie Anderson garnered honorable mention all-conference accolades in dance.
As a major highlight of the schedule, the Concordia Invitational Tournament returns in 2023. CIT cheer and dance competitions are slated to get underway at 10 a.m. CT on Jan. 28. Cheer and dance competitions were added to CIT beginning in 2018. Dance will also host duals with the likes of College of Saint Mary, Morningside and Hastings and appear at invites staged by Doane, York College and Dordt.
Doane will host the GPAC Cheer & Dance Championships on Feb. 24-25. The 2023 NAIA National Championships will follow on March 10-11 with Concordia University, Ann Arbor serving as the host.
Maser’s teams also regularly appear and perform at other Concordia varsity intercollegiate contests. Both cheer and dance will be present at Bulldog Football home games beginning this fall.
