SEWARD, Neb. – With strong performances during the 2021 season, a number of standouts from the Concordia University Football team improved their standing on the program’s all-time single-season and career record lists. At bottom is a summary of the movement made this fall by individual Bulldogs. Most notably, All-American linebacker Lane Napier padded his school career record tackle total.
Not only does Napier own Concordia’s career record with 535 tackles, he also possesses three of the top four single season tackle totals during the GPAC era. Napier’s 142 tackles in 2018 stand as a program standard for a single season since 2000. Named the GPAC Defensive Player of the Year and an NAIA First Team All-American in 2021, Napier also posted respective tackle figures of 97 in 2017, 108 in 2019 and 134 in 2021.
Among the updates, Cayden Beran and Korrell Koehlmoos have continued to establish themselves as two of the most productive receivers in school history. Both pass catchers rank in the top 10 of the program’s all-time lists for career receptions and receiving yards. As for quarterback DJ McGarvie, his freshman season was an impressive one. His 19 touchdown passes rank as the second highest single season total ever for a Concordia signal caller. His 130 completions are the sixth most in a season for a Bulldog.
