2024 GPAC Preseason Football Coaches’ Poll
SEWARD, Neb. – Similar to where it landed in last season’s final standings, the Concordia University Football team has been pegged fifth in the 2024 GPAC Preseason Football Coaches’ Poll released on Wednesday (Aug. 7) by the conference office. The Bulldogs generated 65 points while polling in the middle of what will be an 11-team league this fall. Defending GPAC champion Northwestern took the top spot with seven first-place votes.
Eighth-year Head Coach Patrick Daberkow welcomed his 2024 squad to campus on Tuesday for the start of preseason training. The Bulldogs held their first official fall practice early in the morning on Wednesday. Concordia returns eight starters on offense and 10 on defense from a 2023 squad that finished at 5-5 overall and tied for fourth place in the GPAC. The Bulldogs welcome back All-American receiver Austin Jablonski, First Team All-GPAC defensive lineman Kyle Sterup and second team all-conference selections in linebacker Michael Grindey, quarterback DJ McGarvie and offensive lineman Tyler Walford.
Concordia is slated to kick off the 2024 season on Aug. 31 when Waldorf makes a visit to Bulldog Stadium for a 7 p.m. CT start. This will be Waldorf’s debut season as a member of the GPAC. The entire schedule can be found HERE.
