2024 Concordia Football Schedule
SEWARD, Neb. – The countdown to the 2024 opening kickoff is on. The Concordia University Football team has announced a 10-game ’24 schedule set to start underneath the Bulldog Stadium lights on Aug. 31. Head Coach Patrick Daberkow’s squad will ring in the new season by taking on the newest member of the GPAC, Waldorf University of Forest City, Iowa. The slate includes five home and five away games.
The 2024 campaign will mark Daberkow’s eighth as head coach at his alma mater. The Bulldogs are coming off a ’23 season that saw them finish at 5-5 behind one of the top offenses in school history. Concordia brings back a wealth of talent, including eight of its nine 2023 All-GPAC award winners. The headliner among them is record-breaking NAIA First Team All-American receiver Ausitn Jablonski.
Jablonski will again catch passes from Second Team All-GPAC quarterback DJ McGarvie, Concordia’s all-time leader for touchdown passes (54) and passing yards (6,679). The list of returning All-GPAC honorees also includes defensive lineman Kyle Sterup (first team), linebacker Michael Grindey (second team), offensive lineman Tyler Walford (second team), defensive linemen Carson Fehlhahfer (honorable mention) and Devon Polley (honorable mention) and offensive lineman Blake Schlegel (offensive lineman).
In addition to the season opener versus Waldorf, the ’24 schedule features a Sept. 28 homecoming clash with Dordt and a Nov. 2 senior day matchup with Hastings. The Bulldogs will also host perennial power Morningside for a night game on Sept. 7. The regular season will conclude with a road trip to Midland on Nov. 16. In another in-state rivalry, Concordia will be at Doane on Oct. 19. In addition, the junior varsity schedule has been unveiled and includes four contests.
Dabekow’s squad began spring practice on April 8 and will host an intra-squad open to the public at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, April 26.
