Prepped at Wilber-Clatonia High School … coached by Lynn Jurgens … lettered four times and started for three years at the varsity level … served as a team captain for one year … totaled more than 1,000 yards rushing and passing in the same season … helped the Wolverines to three state playoff appearances with one resulting in a semifinal advancement … competed for four years each in basketball, baseball and track & field … in basketball, earned second team all-conference, third team all-conference and honorable mention all-state honors … qualified for state track three times with a fifth-place state finish in the long jump … achieved honor roll status … member of National Honor Society.
