This Saturday (Oct. 10)'s scheduled GPAC football matchup between Concordia and Dakota Wesleyan has been postponed. The makeup date is set for Saturday, Nov. 21.

After notching two sacks and three tackles in a dominant defensive performance versus Jamestown, senior Chase Hammons was named GPAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Concordia enters the week as one of three 4-0 teams in NAIA football. The Bulldogs will pack their stout defense on the road for Saturday's trip to Dakota Wesleyan.

The passing of Blake Culbert and another smothering defensive effort helped boost the Bulldogs to a 23-3 homecoming win over Jamestown. Concordia improved to 4-0.

The third all-time meeting between Concordia (3-0) and Jamestown will unfold on homecoming Saturday in Seward. Last year's matchup took four overtimes to decide.

A familiar formula featuring a smash-mouth run game, rugged defense and mistake-free football led to the Bulldogs moving to 3-0 in the GPAC. Concordia won at Briar Cliff, 24-9.

After rushing for five touchdowns, including the game winner, last week versus Hastings, running back Jonah Weyand has been named the NAIA National and GPAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Concordia last started 3-0 in GPAC play in 2013. The Bulldogs will try to duplicate that start with a victory Saturday at Briar Cliff. Kickoff from Sioux City is set for 1 p.m.
