BEATRICE, Neb. – The 2025 GPAC Men’s Golf Championships did not unfold the way the Bulldogs expected. When action ended on Tuesday (April 22) from Beatrice Country Club in Beatrice, Neb., Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Golf landed in 10th place among the 11 GPAC member programs. The Bulldogs shot 317-313-318–948 (+84) for the three-round tournament, which was characterized by overall sunny and pleasant conditions at a course meant to challenge the conference field.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad entered Tuesday’s third and final GPAC round tied for ninth place. Concordia wound up placing in front of Mount Marty.
“Overall, the coaches and our guys are disappointed with how we performed at GPAC,” Muller said. “I definitely thought we had a better team than the results, but unfortunately when you don’t play well, you add it up at the end and you have to accept where you’re at. We finished 10th in the conference. I am very proud of Justin Webert today with how he finished his career on a high note. He struggled yesterday and then had a very nice round today.”
A junior from Elkhorn, Neb., Jake Richmond capped off a strong campaign with a solid three-round run in Beatrice. He began Tuesday tied for 10th place. Richmond slid back to 23rd overall while shooting a team best 74-74-80–228. For the tournament, Richmond totaled 32 pars and six birdies. Richmond placed in the top 10 of three tournaments this spring. Said Muller, “Jake had a great spring and a very solid junior season. We’re going to look to him to carry that momentum into his senior year.”
