COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – As the third and final round of the Bent Tree Intercollegiate wrapped up on Tuesday (Sept. 24), Concordia University Men’s Golf remained in ninth place in the team standings. In a major highlight for the Bulldogs, senior Justin Webert climbed seven spots as compared to Monday while shooting one over par in the closing round of the tournament hosted by Iowa Western Community College. The event was loaded with strong junior college competition and a total of 61 golfers.
Over the two days at Bent Tree Golf Club in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad shot a team total of 323-312-311–946. The tournament title went to Hutchinson Community College (280-283-289–852).
The Lincoln Southwest High School alum Webert put together his best three-round tournament score of the season while placing in a tie for 16th. Webert improved each round in Council Bluffs as he turned in a total of 77-75-73–225. The strong showing lowered Webert’s team best season 18-hole average to 76.0. Fellow senior Jake Hagerbaumer also put together a solid tournament in shooting 80-77-77–234 for a 33rd-place finish.
The rest of Concordia’s grouping of five included juniors Jake Richmond (81-79-83–243; 43rd) and Brock Rogers (93-81-78–252; 53rd) and sophomore Jacob Dowd (85-85-103–273; 60th). Senior Gavin Buttshaw competed as an individual and shot 81-77-91–249 (T-49th).

All that remains on the varsity schedule for the fall portion of the 2024-25 season is the Nebraska Intercollegiate on Oct. 4-5. That tournament will be held at Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Neb. There will also be a junior varsity tournament hosted by Doane on Oct. 7.
