MARYVILLE, Mo. – Cold and blustery weather conditions greeted the field of competitors at the Graceland Invitational held Friday (March 22) at Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville, Mo. The Concordia University Men’s Golf battled the elements and placed third out of the eight teams on hand in Missouri. Drew D’Ercole managed to crack the 70s and earn a top-five individual finish.
The event marked the second of the spring portion of the season for Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad. The Bulldogs also spent part of spring break in the Phoenix area in early March.
Five individuals represented Concordia at the Graceland Invite. D’Ercole shot a 79 as he claimed his third top-five tournament placement of the season. D’Ercole was joined at the event by teammates in Jacob Dowd (84), Brock Rogers (87), Justin Webert (90) and Josh D’Ercole (90). Scores across the board were inflated by the conditions. Drew D’Ercole finished three strokes off the tournament champion.
The Bulldogs’ team score came in at 340. CUNE defeated Concordia University System sister school Concordia University Wisconsin (376) while also outperforming three junior colleges.

The Graceland Invite was originally scheduled to take place both Friday and Saturday. Due to poor weather conditions in the forecast, Saturday’s round has been canceled. Up next for Concordia will be the SCC-Beatrice Invite on April 1.
