LINCOLN, Neb. – More favorable weather conditions on day two of Nebraska Wesleyan’s Howl at the Hill resulted in improved scores across the board. The Concordia University Men’s Golf team slashed 10 strokes off its Sunday score while shooting a two-round total of 326-316–642 at the event held at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln, Neb. Strong winds on Sunday wreaked havoc on the field, but the conditions were near perfect on Monday (April 17).
Head Coach Brett Muller’s ‘A’ squad finished four strokes behind fourth-place Central College (638) at the tournament that featured 10 teams and 71 individual players. The top three team place finishers were Carleton College (614), Southeast Community College (622) and host Nebraska Wesleyan (632).
As Concordia’s top golfer, Drew D’Ercole entered round two tied for 10th. The Papillion, Neb., native couldn’t quite hold onto a top 10 finish as she shot 80-77–157. D’Ercole placed a tie for 15th on the heels of the Midwest Spring National Invite, which saw him earn a top five placement. The remainder of the Bulldog ‘A’ grouping included Justin Webert (82-78–160; T-25th), Jake Hagerbaumer (81-81–162; T-34th), Jacob Woodmancy (83-82–165; T-40th) and Ivan Yabut (86-80–166; T-44th).
The Concordia ‘B’ team shot 343-324–667 and was led by Brock Rogers (84-79–163), who placed in a tie for 37th overall. All Bulldog scores from the event can be found below.
