SEWARD, Neb. – Courtesy of his performance at the Nebraska Intercollegiate, fifth-year Bulldog Drew D’Ercole garnered recognition from the GPAC on Wednesday (Oct. 11). The conference tabbed D’Ercole as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Co-Men’s Golfer of the Week along with Hastings’ Gabe Escalera. D’Ercole has collected the GPAC weekly award for the second time in his career.
The Papillion, Neb., native D’Ercole wrapped up the fall portion of the 2023-24 season by shooting 74-74–148 (+4) at the Nebraska Intercollegiate held in Axtell, Neb., Oct. 6-7. D’Ercole placed in a tie for fourth place out of 55 golfers in the field. The standout Bulldog also placed fourth at the Blue River Classic held in December. Through five events (13 rounds) this fall, D’Ercole leads the team with an 18-hole scoring average of 74.0.
D'Ercole returned to the program this academic year while using his ‘COVID year’ of eligibility. D’Ercole enjoyed a fine 2022-23 season that saw him be named to the NAIA PING Central All-Region, GPAC All-Conference and Academic All-District and All-America (College Sports Communicators) teams. He was also chosen as an All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America. D’Ercole owns a career collegiate scoring average of 75.9 (80 rounds) and has placed inside the top 10 of 10 tournaments in his time at Concordia.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s golf programs will resume the season in the spring of 2024.
