SEWARD, Neb. – The top two performers for the Concordia University Men’s Golf team, Drew D’Ercole and Ivan Yabut have been recognized by College Sports Communicators as 2023 Academic All-District® Team award winners. Teams were selected and announced by CSC on Tuesday (May 23). D’Ercole and Yabut were also recently named First Team All-GPAC honorees. On May 18, D’Ercole was named to the 2023 NAIA PING Central All-Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The 2022-23 Academic All-District® At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher in order to be nominated for this award. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

An NAIA Scholar-Athlete, D’Ercole was twice named Honorable Mention All-GPAC before being chosen to the first team in 2023. He graduated this May with degrees in Recreation and Sport Studies and Business Administration.
Yabut wrapped up his Concordia career this spring. Like D’Ercole, Yabut ranks among the top individuals in program history. The Omaha Burke High School alum shot an average of 75.4 in 2022-23 and placed in a tie for 20th in the GPAC. Yabut turned in two top-10 tournament finishes this season: sixth at the Doane Spring Invite and 10th at the Siouxland Invitational. Major moments in Yabut’s career included a school record single-round total of seven-under-par 65 at the 2021 Siouxland Invite and the program’s best ever individual GPAC finish of fifth in the spring of 2022. For his career, Yabut recorded seven top-10 tournament placements and five top-five tournament finishes. He’s now a back-to-back All-GPAC honoree with a career scoring average of 76.6.
