SEWARD, Neb. – A quartet of Bulldogs from the Concordia University Men’s Golf program were honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday (Aug. 9). The organization recognized the following student-athletes with 2022-23 All-America Scholar accolades: Drew D’Ercole, Jake Hagerbaumer, Justin Webert and Ivan Yabut.
To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
D'Ercole, Hagerbaumer, Webert and Yabut each also achieved NAIA Scholar-Athlete distinction in 2022-23. Meanwhile, D’Ercole garnered Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors from College Sports Communicators and Yabut was tabbed an Academic All-District award winner. Season averages this past season were 74.2 for D’Ercole, 75.4 for Yabut, 76.2 for Webert and 77.6 for Hagerbaumer. Both D'Ercole and Yabut took home All-GPAC awards this past spring.
