LINCOLN, Neb. – Four Bulldogs shot 79 or lower on Sunday (April 14) as 10 competitors represented Concordia University Men’s Golf on day one of the Howl at the Hill hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University. Junior Justin Webert paced the squad with a 77 on a warm spring day that saw temperatures soar into the mid-80s. The two-day tournament is being held at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln, Neb., where golfers from five institutions have convened.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s two groupings carded respective team scores of 315 and 326 on Sunday. Host Nebraska Wesleyan leads the field with a 298.
A second-place finisher at this spring’s SCC Invite, Webert stands five strokes behind the Howl at the Hill tournament leader with 18 holes to be played on Monday. The rest of the team’s top five on Sunday included Jake Hagerbaumer (78), Drew D’Ercole (79), Colin Aubuchon (79) and Jacob Dowd (81). Complete scores from round one are listed below.
On day two, the Bulldogs will be chasing the likes of Nebraska Wesleyan, Iowa Western Community College, Concordia College (Moorehead, Minn.) and Northeast Community College.
